Capcom have reported that, following a recent tour across Asia to promote Street Fighter X Tekken, producer Yoshinori Ono has fallen ill and been hospitalised.
He has been extensively travelling all around the globe over the past few months to push Capcom’s latest release, and it remains unclear as to the severity of his current condition.
“I would like to bring something else to everyone’s attention”, a Capcom representative shared on the company’s Japanese blog. “Shortly after the Street Fighter X Tekken promotion in Asia, Ono-san’s physical condition rapidly and heavily deteriorated and he had to be taken to the hospital.
“Because of his hospital tenure he will not be performing work-related affairs for a while. Ono’s well-being is very important to us, and we wish for his steady recovery”.
Ono, who regularly takes to Twitter to interact with fans of the Street Fighter series, had been unusually absent on the social media site since he last posted images from a visit to Seoul on March 14th.
Our thoughts are very much with Ono-san, and we wish him well on his recovery.
